Boating Safety Educationd

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF), in conjunction with Louisa Parks & Recreation, will be offering a FREE safe boating course entitled “Boat Virginia” at the Betty Queen Center on the 2nd Saturday of each month from May through October 2010. The course will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude around 4:30 p.m. for each workshop. The Virginia Boating Safety Education compliance requirement is being phased-in over a 7-year period (July 2009-July 2016). Participants who successfully complete this course are issued a wallet-sized certificate and their name is entered into the VDGIF database. Anyone wishing to meet all the requirement needed must take this course. To register for this course or obtain additional information contact Dave Aitken at (540) 894-0441 or e-mail aitkendk@aol.com. Preregistration is required. Class minimum is 6 and the maximum enrollment is 25 people.
