Gymstick Nordic Walking

The newest rage in personal fitness is walking with poles. This new and revolutionary form of exercise is a complete fitness and wellness experience. Learn the proper techniques to experience how this simple yet effective fitness tool can transform into a gym within seconds to provide a total body conditioning workout. Gymstick Nordic Walking and resistant training improves cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and core strength, balance and flexibility, muscular coordination, fat loss and toning. Even if you are currently a walker, by adding the walking poles you can increase your workout intensity by 20% (Weight Watchers’ magazine, December 2008). All fitness levels welcome. Class will consist of 20 minutes Nordic walking, then 20 minutes of resistance and strength training, then a 20 minute cardio/cool down. Poles provided during class. Dress in layers and athletic shoes, class will walk outside whenever possible. Bob Shell, Gymstick Nordic Walking Master Trainer, will be the instructor. Join us and see why Gymstick Nordic Walking is becoming so popular. Please list your height when you register so we can have the correct size poles for you to use.
