American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

This professional course offers American Red Cross certification in lifeguarding. Participants must be at least 15 years of age on or before the last scheduled class date and able to swim for 300 yards continuously. Then they must surface dive 7 to 10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object and return to surface, swim back to start with object and exit water within one minute 40 seconds. Swim test will be conducted on the first day of class. Participants MUST attend all classes, pass skills test, and pass all written work in order to receive certification. Class dates are June 28 through July 2 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Louisa County Aquatic Facility. The fee for the course is $150.00. Only 10 participants may attend this class. REGISTER EARLY! Participants should bring a light, nutritious, packed lunch.
