Louisa Golden Peeps Contest
Get your “peeps” together for the Parks and Recreation Golden Peeps Contest. That’s right! It’s a Peeps Diorama Contest! Now is the time to get really creative, using marshmallow peeps, springtime’s most famous treat, to create a miniature scene in a shoe box. You can do it with family or friends, or create one all by yourself. Depict a current event or something historical; maybe nods to your favorite cartoon or something in pop culture...the design is limited only by your imagination! The one big rule is that all characters in your scene must be played by peeps. NO vulgar or inappropriate scenes will be accepted! To enter the contest, you must create and then take photos of the scene from various angles, then e-mail your photos to us or drop them in the mail. All photos must be received by Friday, March 23rd. Five finalists will be chosen to be judged in person, and those displays must be brought to the Betty Queen Center by March 30th. Winners will be selected and then displayed at the Louisa Library during the month of April. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Funniest, most original, current or historical event, pop culture, and Golden Peep Grand Prize. To e-mail photos, click on the link below. Mail photos to LCPR, P.O. Box 864, Louisa, VA 23093. Deliver photos to the Parks & Recreation at 522 Industrial Drive, Louisa. If you want some ideas on other peeps dioramas, check out the website www.washingtonpost.com.
