Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center Rentals
Rentals of the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center
The Betty Queen Center is managed by Louisa County Parks and Recreation and is equipped with various size rooms available for rent for meetings and social gatherings. The Great Room, our largest space, is available for receptions and other larger social functions. For a maximum of 8 hours, which includes set up and clean up time, the Great Room requires a $450 rental fee (of which $100 will be refunded within 30 days providing the room is returned to it’s original condition). Civic groups and nonprofit organizations are allowed one discounted rental fee of $250 per calendar year (of which $100 will be refunded) providing the request is submitted on organization letterhead and paid by organization check. The kitchen at the Betty Queen Center is not available for public use unless specific qualifications are met and additional fees will apply. Use of Outdoor Fields at
Louisa County Public Schools
Louisa Parks and Recreation schedules the use of
outdoor fields on school property on weekdays after
6:00 p.m. and on weekends (when school activities
are not scheduled). If fields are not being used by our
department, they may be available to other
organizations who qualify. Regardless of your
affiliation, ALL OUTDOOR FIELD USAGE
MUST BE SCHEDULED THROUGH US. Contact
us for field usage information at 967-4420.
Any organization interested in reserving INDOOR
facilities at Jouett, Thomas Jefferson, and Trevilians
Elementary Schools, or at Louisa County Middle
School must contact the principal of that school.
Reservations of Louisa County High School and High
School Annex must be approved by Lee Downey,
Louisa County High School's Athletic Director. |

Recreational Areas
Northeast Creek Reservoir
187-acre lake and boat
ramp located on Jefferson Highway east of Louisa.
Open year round: one-half hour prior to sunrise until
one-half hour after sunset. Gas powered motors
prohibited. Fishing by permit only which may be
purchased at Louisa Water Authority (540) 967-1122

Betty Queen Center Playground
New for the citizens of Louisa County is the construction of the Betty Queen Center playground area, which includes a large play structure with spiral slide, wave slide, and zip slide, a clover leaf climber, and a mega rock climber. There is also a sky runner, swings, and a whirlwind seat. Also included is a fun-semble musical station. This play area is for elementary school aged youth.
Louisa County Aquatic Facility
A three-pool outdoor complex open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Included is a junior Olympic size competitive pool, an activity pool for games and exercise classes, and a toddler pool with a fountain sprinkler. Concession items are available to purchase. This facility is managed by Louisa County Parks and Recreation and questions, comments, and/or concerns should be directed to our office at (540) 967-4420.
Louisa Skate Park Facility
Louisa Skate Park includes a pyramid, vertical wall, three sided hip, kicker ramp and two quarter pipes, plus some other features. There is no fee to use the facility, but you do need your own equipment. Wear appropriate safety equipment, including helmet with chinstrap, elbow and knee protection, and a mouthpiece. Skaters are participating at their own risk and certain rules must be adhered to. Located behind the Betty Queen Center in the Industrial Air Park across from Louisa County Aquatic Facility.
Pavilion Across From Aquatic Facility
The pavilion across from the Louisa Aquatic Facility is available to rent for your birthday party or small event. Included are four picnic tables and two charcoal grills. Fee is $20 for a three hour rental reservation. Security deposit of $25 is required, but will be refunded providing area is left clean after use.
Bowlers Mill Lake
75-acre lake and boat ramp
located on Bowlers Mill Road off James Madison
Highway south of Gordonsville. This lake area is
open year round: from sunup to sundown. Gas
powered motors prohibited. Fishing by permit only
which may be purchased at the Louisa Treasuret's
Office (540) 967-3435, Carterfields Sporting Supply
(540) 967-1220, or Gordonsville Sports Supply (540)
832-7013.
Louisa Town Park
Playground equipment for
elementary and preschool age children, picnic tables,
walking trail, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits,
and picnic shelter. The passive park is located on
Meadow Avenue in the town of Louisa and operated
by Louisa County Department of Parks and
Recreation. Pavilion reservations may be obtained
by contacting our office.
Buckner-Bumpass Park
Located on Bumpass
Road, this 18 acre community park includes picnic
tables, playground equipment and picnic shelter.
Walking trails and ball diamond are available for use.
This park is operated by Louisa County Department
of Parks and Recreation. Pavilion or ball field
reservations may be obtained by contacting our office.
Rising Sun Community Park
Located at 7071 Fredericks Hall Road on the property of the Rising Sun Community Building, this park includes playground equipm,ent and swings for neighborhood youth. There is a basketball court for teens and adults. Picnic tables are available for use. The park is maintained by Louisa County Parks and Recreation and available to the public each day until dark.
Lake Anna State Park
Park, boat ramp and picnic
area open all year. Beach is open Memorial Day
through Labor Day. Beach admission and parking fee
are required and additional launching and trailer fees
apply. Annual passes and lifetime passes are also
available. Lake Anna State Park is located at 6800
Lawyers Road (Rt. 601) in Spotsylvania County.
